Josefine Göhmann works closely with the Vienna Ensemble for New Music “reconsil”. In June 2021 she sang the soprano solo of the lyrical-experimental suite "Lunaria" (2008) by Ivo Nilsson and the premiere of the a capella commissioned work "Réquiem para un niño" (2020) by Aya Yoshida (*1992) at REAKTOR/Vienna.

Versatility in terms of subject and epoch has formed the core of her artistic interest since her youth as a soloist in the Hannover Girls' Choir with a stylistic range from late Renaissance to world premieres of Pärt, Rautavaara, Eben, Koerppen, Schleiermacher and many others.

In partnership with pianist Mario Häring, in spring 2022 Josefine Göhmann presented her debut album "reBELLES! portraits lyriques" on the subject of female self-determination and 100 years of the women's rights movement on the Munich label solo musica.

In the 2022 yearbook of the "Opernwelt" magazine, Josefine Göhmann and her CD "réBelles! portraits lyriques" were nominated for the Media Release of the Year Award (Arno Lücker).

Deutschlandfunk dedicated a music panorama (03/28/22) and the program “Wortspiel” (05/11/22) to the “reBELLES!” project, where the commissioned work “La Vierge de Cluny. Chant d ́une femme" for soprano a capella was analytically presented by the Filipino composer Feliz Anne Reyes Macahis (*1987).

Thanks to the funding by "NEUSTART KULTUR"/ensemble of the German Music Council and the Federal Minister of State for Culture and Media, the Lied duo Göhmann-Häring will perform "réBelles!" under the working title "femal(E)motion" as performative song recital involving other arts such as video/Jan Speckenbach and cheoreography/Kathlyn Pope.

In August 2022, "réBelles!" was presented as "le concert" and "le festival" with an Education Festival (composition workshop with Ruth Wiesenfeld; writing workshop with Alexa Hennig von Lange; choral choreography for the girls' choir of the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin with Kathlyn Pope) and panel discussion (female composer!) with the help of further support from C. Bechstein and KPM/Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur Berlin in the Elisabeth-Kirche/Berlin-Mitte. Further performances will follow in the 2022/23 season, such as at the cooperation partner Heidelberger Frühling/Liedzentrum Heidelberg and in France at the "Ferme aux Arts".

Under the title "Weib und Wahn", Deutschlandfunk continued its collaboration with the Lied duo in the "Open up!" concert series from Deutschlandfunk's Cologne chamber music hall. The program included works by Wagner, Debussy, Liszt, Messiaen, Schumann, Strauss, Wagendristel and von Bingen. The focus was on the question of female hysteria, prayer as the stigma of the female "ultima ratio" as reflected in Lied literature from the Romantic period to the modern age. An a cappella cantus by "Hildegard" framed the program. Piano solo works and interview passages underlined the program's discursive approach. Moderator: Jonas Zerweck. Broadcast: June 20, 2022, Music Panorama.

In the soundtrack of the ZDF/Arte film "Honecker und der Pastor"/2022 (Jan Josef Liefers), Josefine Göhmann sang the song "Last Rose of Summer" from the opera "Martha" by Friedrich von Flotow, accompanied by the harpist Sarah Christ.

Josefine Göhmann studied singing with Carol Richardson and in the song classes of Jan Philip Schulze and Justus Zeyen at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. Master classes with Charlotte Lehmann, Juliane Banse, Fernando Turina, Stephan Rügamer and Thomas Quasthoff at the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg as well as "Le Studio" at the Opéra National de Lyon complement her training. Her mentors include Laura Aikin and Jean-Paul Fouchécourt.

Josefine Göhmann was admitted to the Accademia del Belcanto "Rodolfo Celletti" 2021 as part of the "Festival della Valle d'Itria" under the musical direction of conductor Fabio Luisi.

Josefine Göhmann was a prizewinner at the Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg in 2016, a finalist in the Richard Strauss Singing Competition in Munich in 2018 and a solo scholarship holder in the German New Start Culture funding program.
